Community Cookbook Campaign

When approached to help with an elementary school fundraising project, a Community Cookbook, we donated our time and talents to the cause.

Paule Design was involved in the creation of this project from initial project brief through final book production. This included conception, multiple marketing campaigns, cookbook photography, graphic design, copywriting and editing, and final production files.

The overall goal was to create a community-sourced book that would at home in any kitchen next to a cookbook from a professional chef.

Marketing Campaign #1: The Recipe Request

Recipes for the cookbook were crowd sourced from the school community.

Challenge #1: Motivate busy parents to submit recipes.
Challenge #2: Community cookbooks tend to be photocopier quality. We quickly needed to establish a high quality look and feel that would reflect the final product.

Marketing Campaign #2: The Cover Art Contest

Our second campaign requested students create and submit original artwork in any medium. First prize artwork was featured on the cookbook cover; runners-up were exhibited on section dividers.

The following images were used on social media and posters hung in the school.

Marketing Campaign #3: The Cookbook

The final campaign encouraged the school community to sell copies of the cookbook. This push included in-school posters, flyers distributed to families, and “shareable images” designed specifically for adults to use on social media.
